William Liu is the Senior Managing Partner of Lighthouse Global Resources Group based in Tokyo, Japan. William is a seasoned professional in the human capital sector with 30 years of experience in Japan and China. Most recently, William has been focusing on Life Science and Technology sector in Japan.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Born and brought up in Shanghai, William spent the last 23 years in Japan, working in various senior Human Resources roles at both consulting and corporate environment. His last position was HR Director with Elekta Japan, a major Swedish medical device company, known for its pioneering capital medical equipment of oncology and neurology. Prior to Elekta, he has served various senior HR management roles at Russell Investment, Shinsei Bank, GE Japan and Sanyo Electronics. He has also worked as a senior consulting director with Mercer China, IBM Japan, PWC consulting and Aon Hewitt, where he served numerous MNC clients in pharmaceutical, medical devices, healthcare and FMCG industries. William’s area of HR expertise span across all areas of human resources managing, including leadership development, business process outsourcing, compensation & benefit, employee relations, M&A and organizational development.

William started his search career with China International Intellectual & Technology Corporation (CIIC), one of the biggest recruiting firm in China, where he recruited IT/architecture/shipping engineers to work in Singapore back in mid 1990s. Some of the recent placements he has made are: Japan President for a German life science company, China GM for Kyoko PR of Ruder Finn Asia, Japan Head of HR for European Healthcare company, the Executive Director of a Japanese real estate service company, and CFO of a European technology company.

He has tremendous experience in working closely with business and senior management team, providing consultation, guidance and effective solutions that help achieving business objectives.

William has a MBA degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a MA in American Studies from Doshisha University in Kyoto and a BA from Shanghai International Studies University.
